Lazari Investments Ltd, London

When Lazari received planning permission to construct and extend additional office accommodation for Henrietta House, a project to adapt and re-address the fire strategy, fire exit routes, loading bay and basement layout was required. The project was technically challenging. Four separate tenanted buildings that shared a means of escape had their escape routes re-configured. This included the creation of 3no. new escape stairs, the demolition and slab infill of 2no. escape stairs and the formation of 2-hour fire rated corridors & door sets. HHD worked with appointed fire and building control consultants to develop a scheme that met current building regulations and compartmentalisation but could be achieved alongside the complex internal arrangement of Henrietta House.

HHD co-ordinated several packages within the scheme, including the Structural Engineers new steel columns and beams, the install of a two new Goods Lifts, the amendment of the floor levels and the install of a smoke ventilation system.
