Zeno Communications Ltd, Old Street, London

Zeno Communications is part of a global creative communications consultancy. HHD completed a soft refurbishment of their offices in Charing Cross Road in 2017 and were invited back to design and manage their relocation to a new office in Old Street in 2022. The brief was for a sustainable approach: upholstery fabrics and carpet tiles were all made from recyclable materials, existing furniture items were re-upholstered and other existing furniture items adapted to fit the scheme. These were mixed with new furniture items to achieve a layout that was functional and flexible, but also a design statement.

There were also a number of bespoke joinery and metalwork items designed and detailed by HHD. The open plan office and reception area feature bespoke ceiling hung planters; the reception area has a bespoke design reception desk and feature wall and the external meeting room includes a ‘storage wall’ for stools for Zeno’s ‘town hall’ meetings.

The board room and external meeting room featured a bold light fitting from Artemide and coir carpet.

HHD also co-ordinated and managed Zeno’s move from their existing offices to their new location, including the organisation of which furniture was recycled, moved to the new office, or placed in storage.
